About Polyhymnia

Founded in 2021, Polyhymnia is a Catholic women's choir that aims to promote sacred music across the Archdiocese of Saint Louis, Missouri and beyond. Nori Fahrig leads this intimate group of professional female vocalists with the goal of sharing beautiful music from the Catholic tradition across the centuries.

Our mission

Polyhymnia's twofold mission of evangelization and education seeks to promote the beauty of sacred music in parish communities through liturgy, performance, mentoring, and instruction.

Our vision

With the belief that encounters with true beauty can heal the soul, Polyhymnia aims to foster such experiences through concerts, Masses, and media. More intimately, we hope to create a network of artists, providing support for parish musicians looking to expand their repertoire.

Meet the Director

Founder and director Nori Fahrig brings both talent and vision to Polyhymnia. Rooted in a deep faith and inspired by Beauty, Nori seeks to evangelize through one of God's most exquisite gifts to our world - music. She has studied and led music programs throughout the United States, settling in St. Louis, where she lives now with her husband, Deacon Stephen Fahrig.

Meet the Choir

Polyhymnia is comprised of a small group of female vocalists, each with a unique background and set of gifts, which allow them to contribute more than just music to the group.

The Story Behind the Name

Polyhymnia /pɒliˈhɪmniə/
Origin: Greek (Πολυύμνια)
Literal definition: many praises (poly + hymnos)

Polyhymnia, Monte Calvo, Italy. Marble, 2nd c.

In the Ancient Greek tradition, Polyhymnia was the Muse of sacred music, eloquence, meditation, and sacred poetry. Recognizing this Muse as a historical literary figure, our choral group embraces her as a symbol of the feminine genius.

Our Home Base

Church of the Little Flower

1264 Arch Terrace
Richmond Heights, MO 63117

While Polyhymnia performs at churches throughout the Archdiocese of Saint Louis (and beyond!), the majority of our sung Masses for High Feasts take place at Little Flower in Richmond Heights. We are incredibly grateful to Little Flower for allowing us to rehearse and worship in such a beautiful space.
